About

I’m John Carter, a former writer and photographer for a small private school in Spokane, Washington. Recently retired, I have the privilege of continuing to capture images I see around me that speak to my soul.

The irony of being a writer is that I often struggle finding the words to describe what I see or experience. Hence the name of this blog — Words Are Inadequate. Hopefully these images will tell their own story and offer an insight into the beauty of God’s creation, if only we have eyes to see.

While many of my shots are of nature, I’m also interested in the intersection of human creations with their environment. Thank you for following along as my wife and I explore the world around us.
