Dead Tree
On the hike to Landscape Arch, we passed this dead tree in front of colorful cliffs.

Landscape Arch
This long, narrow arch lost a big chunk of its underside in the 1990s, making it even more dramatic of a leap across the hillside in Arches NP.

Pine Tree Arch
This ground-level arch is a quarter mile off the trail to Landscape Arch.

Fiery Furnace
Looking across the Salt Valley, the towers and canyons of the Fiery Furnace fill the far horizon. National Park signs warn you not to hike into this labyrinth unless you have a guide.

Delicate Arch
This view of the iconic Delicate Arch (seen on Utah license plates) is from the valley just south of the arch.

Arriving at Arches National Park early in the morning, we drove to the Windows arches to join the people viewing the sunrise through it.

it was a long way down to the Colorado River from the viewpoint at Dead Horse State Park.
